These bullets have amazed me. I run them in my 6mm ARC, over Lever-Evolution Powder, Hornady range once fired brass I processed, SR Mag Primers and testing seating depth easily achieved .68, .7 MOA Groups and even found a very stable single digit SD seating depth. They ran flawlessly for a Gas gun match with 195 of them firing at nearly exactly the DOPE projected from Applied Ballistics app (not time to tue prior to the match). That is a testament to SMKs consistency and precision in making these bullets. I will buy more SMKs in any caliber I intend to use seriously!

I believe this is an extremely well designed match bullet with it’s center of mass further back toward the center of bearing area for superior precision of fire, more below:

Comparing it to a 105 grain match bullet of excellent reputation the 95 grain MK has a longer ogive and a smaller meplat and it is almost the same overall length as the 105 grain bullet which means the 6mm Sierra 95 grain MK bullet has it’s center of mass in a more ideal location for better precision of fire. It also means that the set of drag coefficients should be superior for the 95 gr. Sierra.

I shot a 6-shot group this afternoon, 6XC w/39 gr. H4350 out of a 30.7″ long Krieger barrel w/7″ twist, 22 pound rifle, for sight-in purposes. The group had a vertical spread of 0.37″ @ 104 yards. The average muzzle velocity of rounds #2 through #5, deleting round #1 from a clean barrel, was 3055 f/s with an e.s. of 22.4 f/s and a std. deviation of 8.5 f/s.

A 16-shot group will be fired in a couple of days w/40 gr. H4350, measuring the BC with two Garmin Xero chronographs over 287.6 yards in preparation for a 600-yard match at Prince Gun Range on 12-7-2024. After more shooting it is likely the 95 gr. MK will prove itself.
