Cup is too hard for competition shooting. Multiple failures to detonate during first match with these primers. Shooting buddy had similar experience with his stock Walther PPQ. Will not be purchasing these primers again.

The primers have been working perfectly in my 9mm and 38spl hand loads and your customer service-shipping departments have been excellent to work with. Thanks

Do not make the mistake I did in buying these. I am very disappointed with these. Earlier this year I bought 2K of these because they were available. I tried a limited amount and had a few problems only with a revolver. I ended up ordering 4K more, thinking OK I’ll only use with with only my semi autos (which had not exhibited any issues with the limited amount I had tried with them). Big mistake.

With this second batch (seems even worse than 1st) I bought I have maybe 10% not go off in my STI 2011 open style gun. This is a gun with a hammer and 18lb main spring. Just today in a competition shoot, I had 4 not go off. I have had some not go off in my SVI limited gun (another hammer; not striker type gun). Oh and in my Dan Wesson revolver I estimate 25% will not go off the first time. This is in single action mode which provides more force than double action.

If you use these for loads in a carry gun, you are putting your life at risk. I would not buy these if there’s any chance you will be using these in a competition, unless you don’t mind losing due to the ammo. I would not consider these for practice only ammo, unless they were priced less than half of a reliable brand.

I have been reloading for 22 years. I have used CCI, Winchester and Federal small pistol primers in all 3 of the guns mentioned and not once experienced a failure to ignite.

I don’t understand how there can be so many positive reviews. Perhaps others posted positively without firing thousands of rounds made with these like I have. I wish there was some way to get a refund for these.

This brand of primers is rather hard. Failure to fire was probably 20%. It was hard to make it through an entire magazine without at least one failure to fire. Might work better in a hammer fired gun, my Glock had issues.

I’ve been through around 2k of these primers and never had any issue in my hammer fire Sigs or Beretta. Never had a failure to fire because of the primer. They are now my go to for plinking and practice reloads since the cost is below all other primers in the current market and they never let me down. I will say I seat w/ the press on the down stroke so maybe that helps?

“Seating with the press on the downstroke” maybe the answer to these. I also seat with a press strictly for that purpose. Getting the primers all the way down in the pockets are effortless with the Lee Priming die system at around 20 bux. Yes, it takes longer, but I’m now beyond making hundreds an hour from a progressive. I always seat separately now.

I have reloaded a little over a thousand rounds with these and have only had a few FTF and I don’t necessarily blame these. No issues using a Dillon 750 progressive, very easy to seat. For bulk practice ammo these are great.

Can I return the unused unopen boxes of these primers, they are unreliable and not worth even the cheap price. Will NEVER buy these again. Will you actually post this review this time?

Great price. I recommend only using these primers for target practice and not use them in self defense rounds.

    Here is my results:

Glock 21 Gen4 – No miss fires with small primer 45 acp casing

Taraus PT99 9mm parabellum – average one 1 missfire per 50 rounds. Second Primer stike, round went off. I had one missfire my last time to the range where the primer was severly damaged in the missfire and had to take the bullet puller to it when I got home to investigate what happened.

S&W MP40 – 40 Cal, another story – out of 50 rounds 8 missfires which required a second primer strike, 1 round, Primer failed entirely and would not go off. The interesting thing was the fireing signature looked different then a successful round. I am guessing it is Primer Cup hardness.
