Had a barrel made for my LA Savage in 284 Win with a freebore throat by Shilen. It shoots very well, but bullets have been hard to find. I had specified the throat to be optimum for Berger 180 Hybrids, but not available. So I will try these Hornady 180 ELD-Ms and see if they are as good in the 284 as they are in the 6.5 CM. Just a recreational shooter, not F-Class, but just want to see if I can duplicate the claims of F-Class. In my chamber these bullets shank bottom seat just at the neck to shoulder join while the Bergers are 2mm above. However, these do not seem to touch the donut as present in the Lapua 284 Win brass. That is important for uniform bullet release.
